EverConvert Clipper — Last updated: March 3, 2026
EverConvert Clipper is a Chrome extension developed by Yonasol LLC that converts web pages and text selections to Markdown format. Your privacy is important to us.
EverConvert Clipper does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data. All processing happens entirely within your browser.
When you activate the extension (via popup, context menu, or selection), it reads the HTML content of the current page or your selected text. The HTML is sanitized using DOMPurify and converted to Markdown using Turndown — both running locally in your browser. The resulting Markdown is displayed in the extension popup for you to copy or download.
No data leaves your browser at any point during this process.
| Permission | Why It's Needed |
|---|---|
activeTab | To read the content of the page you're currently viewing when you activate the extension |
contextMenus | To add a "Convert Selection to Markdown" option to the right-click menu |
clipboardWrite | To copy converted Markdown to your clipboard when you click "Copy" |
scripting | To inject the content script that extracts page HTML for conversion |
| Host permissions | To allow the extension to work on any website you visit |
The extension bundles two open-source libraries that run locally:
Neither library makes network requests or transmits data.
No data is retained. The extension does not use local storage, sync storage, or any other persistence mechanism. Each conversion is ephemeral — when you close the popup, the converted content is discarded.
EverConvert Clipper does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
